Meet Renee, Accounts Payable Specialist — born and raised in Washington, but deeply rooted in her Filipino heritage.

“It all started with my parents. They made sure we stayed connected to our culture and brought us to the Philippines to truly experience it.

I kept going back, and I even brought my son, Ryan, so he could see the life and the family that shaped us.

If you asked me when I was younger, I probably would’ve answered differently. But now, I appreciate my Filipino side so much more. My parents raised us with strong Filipino values, even while blending in some American ways.”

The trait she values most?

“Being humble and respectful — especially to elders. That’s something my parents instilled in us, and something I don’t always see in American settings.”
